THE SEVENTH ANNUAL
REEL ROCK FILM TOUR
Under the Stars Saturday, September 29 at 7PM
THE BEST IN CLIMBING AND ADVENTURE FILMS!
A BEAUTIFUL GET TOGETHER TO CELEBRATE AND SAMPLE
THE ULTIMATE IN ADVENTURE FILMMAKING.
RAFFLE LIVE MUSIC BEER

This is a volunteer-driven Saturday evening of music, four heart thumping climbing films, a raffle, beer from the Big Sur Maiden Publick, and the library’s “World’s Best Popcorn.”
Mozzo Kush, of Pacific Grove make the drive down the coast to play a 45 minutes set of their face-melting songs prior to the films. The Monterey Weekly calls their guitar shredding music “wise beyond their years.” Seeing Mozzo Kush play is like looking into Monterey County’s crystal ball for rock and roll.
This year’s Reel Rock tour features four films:
The first film, “La Dura Dura,” features elite climbers, including Santa Cruz native Chris Sharma, establishing one of the hardest sport climbs in the world. Found in Spain, this route has remained unclimbed as Sharma and friends vie to be the one to make the first ascent.
“The Shark’s Fin” chronicles the story of legendary alpinist Conrad Anker and his 23-year obsession with completing the climb of one of India’s most brutal mountain ascents. Halted by a friend’s heinous injury years ago, they go back to challenge the elements and their own sanity.
Crack climbing is physically brutal and it takes a certain type of crazy to do it. In “Wide Boys” see how two Brits come to Utah and show some of the toughest climbers in the USA that they can bleed and bruise themselves up cracks with the best of ‘em. Those Brits make the first ascent of “Century Crack,” an unprecedented feat.
You’ll have to hold your breath through “Honnold 3.0.” Alex Honnold free-solos (no ropes, no harness) three of Yosemite’s tallest faces in under a 24 hours. This terrifying feat of endurance has gained the attention of the New York Times, 60 Minutes, National Geographic, and various international media outlets.
The raffle will feature prizes graciously donated by a variety of local businesses like the Sanctuary Rock Gym, Fernwood Resort, the Big Sur Maiden Publick, the Osio Cinemas, Sudz Cyber Laundry, and others.
Gate’s open at 7pm. Mozzo Kush starts rocking a few minutes later. Films start at 8pm. Raffle happens before the last film of the night (Honnold 3.0).
Tickets pre-sale: $8/student (w/ID); $10/general. Tickets at the door: $15/general.
